I am a glass troll, blower and maker from a small town in
Northern Finland. I have been working with glass since 2015 and my ways had led me to Sweden.
Right now I am located at Glasriket, an area in the middle of the forests of Småland, full of glass
studios and wonderful people sharing the same passion for this material.
For seven years I have concentrated on the technical side of glass and my own work has
leaned towards functional pieces with a bit of magic in the detail. Although I am grateful for the
skills and technical capacity I have gained, I notice the limitations it makes in my creative process.
That’s why I have been taking it as my mission to put myself outside of my comfort zone more
often and just play with the caziest ideas lately and oh how fun it is! As soon as I let go of the
limitations I set to myself as a glassmaker (and a human being) I feel the playfulness is bubbling
over. I wish to share a bit of that bubbly -feeling trough my work and remind us to embrace our
inner children and continue to imagine all kind of things and worlds and disappear to them. A little
bit at least.

Ceramic and glass are siblings, both equally dear to me. I approach both with respect and admiration. When working quickly and technically with one material gives the other time to pause and dig deeper. When I work I listen to my intuition. I transfer the emotional state of the moment into my art. For me, Sweden represents glass and Finland ceramics
