Meeri Tuominen - Hidden worlds
1 - 8 september 2024
Meeri Tuominen
is an artist currently studying glassblowing in Nuutajärvi/Notsjö village. Through her art she reflects the relationship between the humankind and nature, hidden worlds and environments humans pass by without noticing. She is inspired by underwater worlds, aquatic organisms, insects and the decomposition progress of organic material. She wishes to make the viewer think about their relationship with nature and little details.
Hidden worlds
The beauty of a fish’s life under water among seaweeds, light’s play on the sandy ocean floor, different decay processes of fruits and beautiful micro-organisms. The exhibition invites you to see the small details that often go unnoticed by humans. What happens underwater? How do fruits continue their life after they have been thrown away? What goes on when no-one is watching?
